Major currency pairs are those that include the US dollar and the currencies of the world's largest economies like EUR/USD, GBP/USD, and USD/JPY. Minor or cross currency pairs include two major currencies, but not the US dollar, like GBP/EUR. Exotic currency pairs include a major currency and the currency of a developing economy, like USD/TRY.

Cryptocurrency pairs involve trading one cryptocurrency for another. It works in the same way as forex pairs, where one currency is traded against another. An example of a crypto pair would be BTC/USD, which involves trading Bitcoin against the US Dollar.
